About Come Have A Chat
Life doesn't hand you opportunities to solely focus on improving your ability to speak impromptu. Not at school, uni, or the workplace. Yet this is arguably one of the most important skills for getting what you want in life.
It's the skill of putting your genuine self out there on the spot, communicating your fresh thoughts in a structured manner, while remaining centered. People respect this ability.
Come Have A Chat (CHAC) is a gym for getting your reps in: short, low-stakes bursts of impromptu speaking, without needing an audience — though you can absolutely use it in front of one. We encourage it.
How it works
- Pick how long you want to talk (one minute is the staple).
- Pick a vibe: Light for quick warm-ups, Deep for the big questions, Silly for absurd fun, Spicy if you're up for something a little intense.
- Fancy a real challenge? Add one — "Crack on" for building communication skills, or "Muck around" for pretending to be a pirate.
- Roll the dice.
- Talk until the timer's done.
- Be proud of yourself for having a go even when you didn't feel ready.
There's also a Drills mode for back-to-back prompts, and a Group mode for taking turns with mates in the same room.
House rules
- Don't take yourself too seriously.
- Don't take anyone else's talk too seriously.
- Have fun.
No account needed, no judges, no mic, no recording — nothing you say leaves the room. No pressure beyond the timer. Trying counts as winning here, which is why the start button says "I'M NOT READY". Nobody ever is.
